13 Games Like Age of Empires

Age of Empires:-
The Game!
Age of empires is what basically described by everyone as Civilization meets Warcraft II. Quite frankly what this game actually is about is building and developing and empire from The Stone Age to The Tool Age then to The Bronze Age and finally to The Iron Age, with 12 different civilizations to choose from. You get a town with some villagers to gather for resources that are kind of like money to upgrade whatever you want to upgrade in here, and that is it, now use the many options in the game inventory to order your people to accumulate stuffs like food, gold, stones and woods and send them to places in order to find any useful resources, order them to study in scientific prolifics, develop army and weaponry and if possible then conquer the other villages and units. Basically whatever you would do if you were handed a real village to build in order to not get ravaged by other tribes in the sweet past.
The Gameplay!
The gameplay of the AOE is based solely on strategy and patience, if you have either of those then great! It’s not exactly Civilization but it does have its moments. When you see your people scampering around trying to carry your orders it’s fun to see that but when you encounter stupidity in it like moronic AI of your villagers and armies then it feels a huge letdowner, there is actually no feel of advancement as all you have to do is hoard up precious items like foods and golds and stuffs to trade in for “advanced knowledge and objects”. As you enter new ages you must complete the “missions” to be worthy f that age, by making special buildings and spending large pound of gold.
Quite basically AOE is plain and simple game of building stuff to advance ahead more by purchase system than actually developing through the ages, with random wars and battles thrown in here and there. Which can get huge pain in the a$$ with the current AI.
The Company!
AoE is developed by Ensemble Studios, Big Huge Games and Robot Entertainment and it is published by Microsoft Studios for PC and was released on 15 October 1997.
The Appeal!
It is a fun game overall guys, if we stop to look at the good parts and stop with the scrutiny then it is pretty enjoyable and may devour hours of your daily time so your call!
Age of Empires III:-
The Game!
The AoE III is the perfection of the previous AoE iterations! The things are like the same as before, get a town, create/build/empower and strengthen it, advance through the offense and defense technologies and become a powerful region then attack other regions and become even more powerful all the while advancing through the phases of Mother Earth.
With Fourteen overall civilizations this time around, the player now has to advance through The Discovery Age, The Colonial Age, The Fortress Age, The Industrial Age and finally The Imperial Age, through three vital acts of The Black family history, a fictional family that transcends through time with generations in the game.
The Gameplay!
The gameplay, the battle mechanics, the story plotline and the construction system are all top notch, its all very gripping, fun and very entertaining, just what one asks from a great game!
Even the online part of the title is superb and lets you have myriad of experiences, both fun and exciting.
The Company!
AoE III is developed by Ensemble Studios and is published by Microsoft Game Studios for PC, Macsoft and Destineer for Mac and Glu for Windows Mobile and N-Gage, and it was released on 18 October 2005.
The Appeal!
Finally the perfect age of Empires game, hack n slash through history with both RPG and real time strategy style, all I have is one word for this- Awesome!
Age of Empires II: HD Edition:-
The Game!
The AoE II HD is but of course the next iteration of AoE, but now in HD, with defined graphics, great widescreens, and Steam supported multiplayer options.
The player usually gets a town and some folks in it to accumulate whatever is necessary to advance a piece of land like foods, golds, stones and woods all the while developing the defense system well with huge army numbers and modern weapons. And when you are somewhat able then hop into the new ages that you must now advance through, The Dark Age, The Feudal Age, The Castle Age and The Imperial Age. Oh and there are 13 different civilizations to choose from this time.
Play into the scenarios and become a part of the history by successfully achieving the mission objectives of every age. It’s like Road to Wrestlemania but with nations and armies and destructions and emergences, you know like with the history of Wrestlemania moments its history moments here!
The Gameplay!
The gameplay of the AoE II HD is both good and bad. If you are only here for the one player scenario modes then goody good but if you are itching to try the multiplayer options then all you will experience are bugs, glitches and random WHY MEs!!!
Build up your place, strengthen it, then imbibe other places and be more powerful, fight the battles, win the wars, the usual stuff that you do with your siblings exactly.
The Company!
AOE II HD Edition was developed by Hidden path Development and published by Microsoft and was released on April 9 2013.
The Appeal!
Its an Age Of Empires game you guys, need I say more? Doesn’t matter if it sucks slightly or lacks somewhere it is still perfect! Kind of like other beloved franchises like Resident Evil and no there is no real known thing as a Resident Evil 6, shut up!
