The Game!
The game is actually marvelous! That is all we can say about this title, and listen no matter how much effort and craftsmanship you may put into a stuff, it is never perfect! The complaints rise only when it blows all the way in every direction, Star Wars is beloved by many but not by all, but it is enjoyable by all if they have to go through it, except the damn prequels!
American McGee's Alice is GREAT! It is truly a dark turn of the classic Alice in Wonderland tale, not unlike the other perverted ones, no, this time the creator of this title, American McGee (that’s a guy’s name) has hit the chord with exceptional storytelling of the fantastical tale of Alice with blood, rage, defiance, strength and will.
Alice in AMA is one of the strongest female characters we have ever known so far.
The Gameplay!
Oh wow, the gameplay huh? Well after all that need we say anything more? Anyways suffice it to say, that it is w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l. the game is almost a decade old but it never loses its grip because of the undercurrent it has like any other great creation, which is mystery, exciting mystery!
The game plays in a third person view with free camera movement, through some of the most detailed and nightmare inducing backgrounds and places which somehow are beautiful too, like the fatal cuteness of Koalas.
You enter the magic land of Wonderland, you meet the Cheshire Cat who is one of the greatest perks of the game along with the music, backdrops, sound effects, battle system and overall freakish-ness of the game’s atmosphere. And the cat rides along with you into the madness ahead.
Alice in this universe is brave, ballsy, witty almost the female counterpart of the Joker and holds on her own against the snide remarks and dialogues of the cat, which could be the biggest object of interest in the game to many!
The Company!
Directed by American McGee, developed by Rogue Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts for PC, Mac OS, X360 and PS3 and was initially released on December 5, 2000 and later for the seventh generation consoles on June 14, 2011.
The Appeal!
Although the gameplay is called linear and pretty simple at most times but somehow that does not affect upon the fact that it will force itself inside your memory forever as one of those games that you were lucky enough to play.
