You are, “The Kid”, protagonist of a story mystically woven around a calamity on a fairy land/alien residence city Caelondia, in the wake of the calamity every living being is destroyed except a few, one is The Kid, our hero!
As he wakes up he reaches to the Bastion, a huge idol where everyone knows to go in times of trouble, there he meets up with another survivor, an old man called Rucks, the narrator of this story.
He sets the boy on an adventure to find the shard of this idol, the Bastion, in order to have a chance at living again and so the story unfolds ahead.
The Game, Bastion is most praised for its visual design, the hand colored paint style of the game, two dimensional look with isometric view of the proceedings, the radical narrating of the game, the overall feel of magic in the atmosphere with slight gloom and slight myth, this all is still unable to explain that feeling you get while playing this title.
The game advances in a elevating environment, a track of road that stretches into a small area of shops or a full blown castles, the stage gets appeared in front of the main character as he advances along the tracks. The controls are easy and smooth, the actions of the player are limited but that does not hold back the fun of the game anyhow.
Move along the mystical and magical, levitating levels, decipher the mystery of the world you are in, find shard to save everyone from doom, meet some more survivors, thwart the plot of your enemies that want to see you fail, unearth the plot and fight your way to salvation of everyone.
An independent title, but a pretty big name nonetheless, The Bastion is developed by Supergiant Games, published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, designed by Amir Rao for PC, Mac, OS X, X360, Linux, iOS, PS4 and PS Vita. It was initially released on 20th July 2011 and later re-released for PS4 and Ps vita on April 7/ December 5 2015.
The appeal of the game Bastion is in its Appearance mostly, although th game itself is pretty good but the art style, the graphics, the visual display and the narration, all of it make it a very heartwarming gaming experience.
