GunBound is a free-to-play turn-based artillery strategy game with focus on multiplayer matches. GunBound was developed and published for Windows by Softnyx in 2005.
In GunBound two teams with up to 4 players compete against each other on a two dimensional map. Each player can choose one (or two in some game modes) Mobiles to use in battle. Mobiles differ e.g. in appearance, defense, and attack, health and some other stats. Also important for the player's strength is the equipment of the player's Avatar. There are many different items that can be bought in the shop and equipped to the Avatar to give powerful additional stats.
Before a match starts, players can not only select the Mobile to use, but also choose some items that can be used during the match. Items can be used to teleport on the map, heal your Mobile, or to enhance your attack power.
So when a player takes his turn, he can choose whether to use an item or not, move the mobile on the map and then adjust the direction, angle and the power of the shoot. The direction and angle can be changed with arrow keys and the power of the shot is adjusted with well timed presses of the space bar. There are several forces in the game occurring during matches which can have an effect on your shots like influencing the power of your shot or the flight path.
There are different game modes in GunBound like Solo, Tag, Score or Jewel. In general your team wins if you defeat all players of the other team or you get a higher score by defeating more other mobiles.
