The Game!
Red Dead redemption is one of those precious titles that are awarded into the Greatest Video Games of All Time, coming from Rockstar Studios, this ain’t much of a surprise!
The game lets you be in the shoes of John Marston, a former outlaw now trying to live a peaceful life with his family, but the goddamn government takes him away from them and asks him to go back to his old days to bring down John’s old outlaw friends.
With no choice whatsoever, John decides to go back in the old form and tracks down his friends, who are now themselves, bandits or gang leaders and thus starts an interesting and awesome tale of western gun slinging action and adventures.
The Gameplay!
The main thing that we noticed about RDR when we were done with it, was that, it was like GTA, but western! Same as in GTA you are free to do all kinds of side stuffs or random acts of whatever, but unlike GTA, it felt more tight, more hard hitting and more gripping overall.
The gun slinging is how all the actions are done in here, with pistols, rifles, shotguns, dynamite sticks and all those old timey things, and its great, the combat system mimics that of Splinter Cell: Conviction, with its Gunslinger mode of attacking.
There are all kinds of old timey stuffs that you will come face to face very often and they will amaze you, like the bounty system that can work for you and against you as well, the wilderness, the helpless peace of the old that hides the greed and development in itself as well.
There is also a Karma System that determines how NPCs will react to you, good karma gets you all kinds of goodies, bad one doesn’t.
Multiplayer is available for RDR as well which is great to have a go at, with the Deathmatches, Capture the flags variants scenarios and Mexican standoffs, it is pure old time western fun.
The Company!
Developed by Rockstar San Diego, published by Rockstar Games for the PS3 and X360, it was released on May 2010.
The Appeal!
It is quite basically like playing GTA but with horses and old timey weapons and unstable surroundings but it holds so much more than the relentless mayhem of GTA, there is something big going on here and the time is not your all safe one, its raw and wild everywhere and that is where the continuous feel of lonesome digs in you, that is priceless while going on with the game!
