Samorost, either a very brilliant point and click event and consequences based game or the most weird point and click event and consequences based game ever made.
The game is a surreal game concept that is based upon the correct and timed guessed clicking at the right spot while the things in the scene and background happen at their own accord so that all of these things match at one point.
Thus completing a task to move ahead with the story.
The story or whatever seems to be going in the game is that there is an unnamed cartoon like creature referred to as Gnome by the game’s creator, so let’s go with that!
Gnome’s home planet is about to collide with an incoming space ship with a wild mess of greeneries, which could result in his planet’s destruction, so Gnome goes to that boulder like space ship in the hopes of averting its direction.
And that is the main goal of the game!
The gameplay is based around on point and click adventure, but its not so simple here, the concept is to watch the scene before you carefully, find a pattern or guess one and then as the things are happening automatically in the game you click on the things that you think may start something and try to time it out with the automatic movements in the game to form a solution.
For example, if you are on a cliff and you have to go to the other part of the scene then you see around and soon you may find a bird appearing out of its nest, it will flock around a little and then it will fly towards you, you time your jump and catch its legs to fly across the scene.
That is what you will be dealing with here and that was the simplest one!
The game is of course for the sharpest and focused of minds and demands great concentration and brain usage, so you should be real grateful to us for all the aspirin we had to consume to just get that above example for you, a nice ‘you are the true master’ would be suffice, we don’t ask much!
There are two parts of the game, two actions happening, one is that you can control and the other that may or may not get affected by your clicks and keeps happening at its own pace, try to figure out a way by timing those using wacky 80’s logic and it should be pre fun and great gaming experience instead of start of some chronic stage of dementia!
As you can guess or may be not the game is created and developed by an art student Jakub Dvorsky and published by Amanita Design for PC and it was released in 2003.
It is something that is both very fascinating and yet very creepy like, but no matter what the game is filled with some real mind benders and fun puzzles and it is a teat to find a way out of them.
