Terranigma is an action role-playing game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was developed by Quintet and published by Square Enix in Japan and by Nintendo in more countries by Nintendo. Terranigma was released in 1995 and is one of the most popular action role-playing games on the SNES console.
The story of Terranigma starts in the underground world in a village called Crysta where a young guy called Ark lives. Ark is the main character in Terranigma and is controlled by the player. Ark and a few other teenagers from the village break up the door of the cellar in the house of the village elder. While the other boys loose their courage, Ark is brave enough to explore the cellar rooms and there he discovers a little box which opens when Arks touches it and a friendly small pink demon appears. But what happened to the people living in Crysta? Everyone is frozen except Ark and the village elder.
The elder sends Ark to leave the village and to explore five different towers surrounding Crysta. For each tower, Ark can cure some villagers of the curse and also to save a continent at the surface world (which is very similar to our real world). After completing this task successfully, Ark is sent to the surface world to help recreating everything, the plants, birds, mammals, and humanity. Later in the game, the acting of Ark even can affect the development of some cities. If Ark does the right actions, they will grow bigger.
Everyone who liked playing any action role-playing game of the SNES era should also have played Terranigma. If you yet did not play it, you definitely should!
