Oh, we and our silly hearts!
Lara, clearly you are the answer to all our questions!
Tomb Raider (TR 2013) is the reboot of the ever loved Lara Croft series from the previous generations of consoles, when Square Enix acquainted The Eidos Interactive in 2009, soon thereafter Crystal Dynamics begun working on the series, trying to make it more relatable and more true to the nature of the adventure survivor genre.
Thus borns The Tomb Raider, a lovechild of exploration freedom and RPG development.
The story revolves around Lara and her friends set to explore about in the sea and getting stranded on The Yamatai Island, in the middle of the dangerous and mysterious The Dragon Triangle.
There she is attacked by dangerous cult men, wild animals and even Samurais!
There is something strange and clearly not right in the island and amid all of this, Lara has to look for her missing friends throughout the island!
The whole game is totally based on the mood of exploration and survival since Lara is not yet the hardened badass we have known and loved and dreamt of, this is her story and we see her developing into The Lara Croft.
The game sets up challenges in sets of objectives, that demand specific skills or situation. The deadly weapons in the game are handgun, an assault rifle, a shotgun, a climbing axe, explosives and a freaking bow, which is suave!
And of course there is Lara too…sigh…give us a moment here will you?
Ahh, phew, ok so where were we? Yes, so the game is based on the RPG development of the artilleries which you upgrade using the skill points by routing the enemies.
The exploration, the side missions, the story, the mystery, the butter like movement, the experience and the Lara comes all into one, woven so beautifully and nicely that the game instantly becomes a replayable classic!
Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix for the PC, OS X, Linux, PS3, PS4, X360 and XOne. It was initially released in March 2013.
The exploration and the survival demand your expert gaming mastery, the gameplay and the experience is fluid, engaging and so much rewarding. The action scenes can really be handled stealthily or with a bang and they are a real challenge to your strategy making neurons.
And eventually if this all doesn’t cut out for you then we can only say the true appeal of this game, which repeat after us, is…
Lara Croft is the answer to all our questions!
Lara Croft, she is!
